Man, 22, charged with murdering Elle Edwards on Christmas Eve

A man has been charged following the death of Elle Edwards, who was shot dead in a pub in Wallasey, Merseyside, on Christmas Eve.
The 26-year-old beautician was out with her sister and friends when she was killed just before midnight.
Connor Chapman, 22, has been charged with her murder, Merseyside Police said.
He was remanded in custody to appear before the Wirral Adult Coroner’s Court on Friday.
Chapman, of Houghton Road, Woodchurch, was also charged with: two counts of attempted murder, three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life and of Dealing with stolen goods .
A 23-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a perpetrator, has been released on bail pending further investigation, police said.
Elle’s father, Tim Edwards, read a statement on behalf of the family at a Merseyside Police press conference five days after the murder.
He said: “There was no one quite as beautiful as our Elle May, her looks, her laugh and the way she lit up a room as soon as she walked in.
“There was a way about her that you fell in love with as soon as you met her, and everyone who met Elle knew just how special she was.
“She was just getting started.
“Christmas and our family will never be the same without her. She was the glue that held this big family together, all of us.”
