THE rumors of a new MacBook Air have just been confirmed.
Apple unveiled its brand new MacBook Air at its World Wide Developers Conference in California on Monday.
The gadget is 11.3mm thin and extremely light.
Apple says it’s thinner, lighter and faster than ever.
It is available in four finishes including gold and black options.
It also includes Apple’s M2 chip.
It starts at $1199 and will be available next month.
Apple says the $999 M1 MacBook Air will also remain in the lineup.
Features of the new MacBook Air
On board is a sound system with four speakers and a three-microphone array for audio recording.
Apple says there’s a full-height feature row and a Force Touch trackpad to boot.
Apple says you’ll get up to 18 hours of video playback, which it calls “all-day battery life”.
The wedge shape of the old Air is gone – there’s a blockier new design that’s similar to the current MacBook Pro models.
According to Apple, the new MacBook Air is 20% smaller than the previous model.
It weighs just 2.7 pounds and comes in Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Midnight color options.
Thankfully, Apple has brought back the MagSafe charger reintroduced with the latest Pro models.
This means the charger snaps in and out with ease.
It has a headphone jack, which many Apple fans have been asking for.
There’s a smaller-bezel 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display that hits 500 nits — that’s 20% brighter than before.
And it has a wide color gamut capable of representing a billion colors.
