Lynn-Man allegedly fled scene of fatal Storrow Drive hit-and-run arrested – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) — A man who allegedly fled the scene of a fatal hit and run on Storrow Drive Saturday morning has been arrested, according to state police.

According to officials, Miguel Rodriguez, 36, is charged with motor vehicle murder while operating under the influence, operating under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in injury or death and allegedly failing to stop or yield to Brandon Jennings , 22, from Marlborough, hitting with his car.

Jennings was walking down the ramp near the Tobin Bridge just after 1:03 a.m. when he was struck by Rodriguez’s gray Honda Accord, according to police. The Marlborough native was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

A bystander witnessing the event followed Rodriguez on his motorcycle to an apartment building in Lynn. The motorcyclist then provided police with Rodriguez’s license plate number and location.

Officers arrived and took Rodriguez into custody. A breath test was taken, police say, and Rodriguez registered a blood alcohol level of 0.119 about two hours after the initial incident.

Rodriguez was transported to the state police’s Boston Barracks, where he posted bail and was released.

Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in court again on June 6.
