Lufthansa plane makes an unscheduled landing after laptop catches fire

A pilot had to make an unscheduled landing after an overheated laptop caught fire in a Lufthansa plane.
The Monday night flight was destined for Frankfurt, Germany.
But after leaving Los Angeles, the pilot had to make a detour to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
The airline said a passenger’s laptop overheated and caught fire.
Monday night’s surprise landing in O’Hare was a precautionary measure following the incident.
The fire was extinguished when the plane landed safely, WLS-TV reported.
None of the passengers were injured, but two flight attendants were treated for smoke inhalation after the “unscheduled landing,” Lufthansa said in a statement.
The airline said its ground staff are helping passengers rebook flights to their final destinations and regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers.
