Love Island 2022: Michael Owen ‘eager to meet daughter Gemma’s boyfriend Luca Bish’

Love Island star Gemma Owen has been inseparable from Luca Bish since they first met shortly after the start of the current series.

It seems like their budding romance has caught the eye of the teenager’s father, famous footballer Michael Owen, who has watched a few episodes so far.

In fact, it has been claimed that the English legend wants to catch up with the fish seller when things get more serious between the two.

“As any father will understand, Michael doesn’t exactly enjoy seeing Gemma’s love life on screen! There are things a father doesn’t have to witness…” an insider claimed. “He’s seen a few episodes and from what he’s witnessed, he thinks Luca and the other guys on the island seem like pretty decent guys.

“But when Luca ends up officially dating Gemma, he definitely wants to meet him and form his own opinion about the guy. Any father would.

“He relied on Louise to keep him informed of what was going on.”

“He’s proud of how well Gemma is doing and knows how level headed she is and that she won’t do anything that makes her uncomfortable,” they added to MailOnline.

Michael may want to wait until Casa Amor is over with plans, as viewers will know that even the strongest of relationships have crumbled under the pressures of the past.

Gemma and Luca have become firm fan favorites since the show began last month, tackling any challenge thrown their way with absolute ease.

However, after the girls are whisked away to a brand new mansion with bombs galore, could this be their biggest ordeal yet?

Body language expert Judi James offered her predictions on what could happen to the Casa Amor twist, suggesting that heads could turn at any moment.

“Luca likes being one of the boys and it’s definitely going to be like a huge bachelorette party at the boys’ casa,” she said Metro.co.uk.

“However, I can’t imagine a girl would trump Gemma in his eyes unless a stunning catwalk model shows up there, with a famous footballer father and a fondness for seafood.

“He and Gemma do like a little bit of fluff in their relationship though, so he could get caught flirting.

“Gemma raised doubts when she told Luca that she would only be tempted if a guy who was 100% her type came along. Producers must have been scouring social media since then.”
