23-year-old rugby player Paige Thorne’s turbulent relationship will be tested again during today’s reunion as he meets newcomers Mollie Salmon and Cheyanne Kerr.
After declaring in yesterday’s episode that it was time to “test” his romance with Paige, Jacques got a little kinder to Cheyanne in today’s teaser.
At the beginning of the episode, Jacques pulled Mollie onto the patio and suggested that she’d like to come into bed with him, but minutes later he told Cheyanne that he wasn’t “interested”.
“I don’t want anyone to be like me,” he said.
“I want someone who’s a little more reserved and calm and probably looks like you [Cheyanne].’
After Jacques confidently claimed he’d found a “best friend” in Paige Throne, fans were quick to slam his recent behavior on Twitter.
“When Jacques said Paige was his best friend, I didn’t think he meant that literally,” one viewer wrote.
“If Jacques stays with Paige after that, I’ll call ofcom,” added another.
“Jacques not only completely disrespected Paige but also the way he disrespected Mollie,” a third person wrote.
Love Island was recently hit by Ofcom complaints about Jacques’ behavior towards Paige during the steamy heart rate challenge.
Paige was upset after Jacques’ heart soared for his ex-girlfriend, football legend Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma.
Paige took the result personally, telling international dressage rider Gemma, “I’m not going to lie, I kind of just did a little bit because you guys have history and I can’t keep up with that.”
“Oh fuck off, mate, if you’re serious… because you’re just being pathetic. I don’t see how you can have a problem with that, mate,” he raged at Paige.
But will he choose to stay with Paige or pair up again?
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
