A man in his 20s has died after being found bleeding to death outside a hospital.

The unidentified victim suffered multiple stab wounds before being driven by a friend to an emergency department in London.

Police found him outside King’s College Hospital on Denmark Hill in the early hours of the morning.

Officers were dealing with a different case when they came across the critically injured man just before 5am.

He is believed to have been taken for medical attention after being attacked on Clapham High Street minutes earlier.

Officials provided first aid and arranged for medical treatment for the man, who died shortly thereafter.

His family has been informed and is being assisted by specialist officials while formal identification and an autopsy have yet to be arranged.

Detective Inspector Matt Denby said: “As I begin to work with dedicated colleagues and homicide detectives, my thoughts and sympathy go out to this man’s family and friends.

“I can assure you of our full commitment to finding those responsible and bringing them to justice.

“I am appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to get in touch with us and share what you have seen or know that may assist the investigation.

“Roundings are in place and a full forensic investigation of the crime scene is ongoing.

“The public will see officers working in the Clapham area throughout the day. If local people have any information or concerns, please speak to these officials.”
