A 60-year-old man has been killed at a western care facility London last night.
Around 11.50pm, Metropolitan Police officers were called to the home in Lansbury Drive, Hayes.
Despite the best efforts of rescue workers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A murder investigation has since been launched, and a 44-year-old male resident at the nursing home has been arrested for the murder.
He is currently being held at a police station in west London, the force said in a statement this morning.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and an autopsy will be scheduled in due course.
A Met statement said: “A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at a police station in west London.
“Both the deceased and the arrested man were residents of the facility.”
