London: Man, 28, charged after woman and her dogs killed in crash | British News

A man has been charged with multiple offenses after a woman and her three dogs were tragically killed in an accident.
Olivia Riley and her golden retrievers died when they were hit by a car in Chelsea, west London, in May last year.
Laszlo Dancs, Heathfield Road, W3 is charged with causing the death by dangerous driving, drunk driving, driving under the influence of drugs and failure to take a breath sample when required.
The 28-year-old will appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow after being charged and appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in November 2022.
Ms Riley, from Suffolk, was found dead in Cheyne Walk after officers and paramedics rushed to the scene just after 6am on May 14, 2022.
The 41-year-old was the stepdaughter of bestselling author Lucinda Riley, who wrote the series Seven Sisters, which has sold more than 20 million copies.
She reportedly helped manage her stepmother’s estate after her death in June 2021.
Property prices in Cheyne Walk average around £3.5million, while the parallel Chelsea Embankment has been home to famous residents such as Sir Mick Jagger.
In a tribute to Ms Riley last year, her uncle Mark told MailOnline: “She was beautiful, fun-loving, she just lit up the room for everyone.”
“She was dealing with the recent death of her stepmother. The course of events is just awful.
“Livi just made everyone laugh, she was the nicest person you can meet.”
A Met Police spokesman said at the time: “Police were called to Cheyne Walk, SW3 at 06:21 on Saturday May 14 following reports of a traffic accident involving a car, a pedestrian and three dogs .”
“Officials were at the scene with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Olivia was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Apparently she was walking her three dogs, all golden retrievers, at the time of the incident. They too died as a result of their injuries.”
Last week, a father was hit by a car and killed just moments after helping ducklings across a busy US road.
