London: Huge 20ft sinkhole swallows motorbike after opening in road

Dramatic images show a 20ft sinkhole swallowing a motorbike after it opened up on a residential street in south-east London.
The huge crater appeared on a street lined with 1930s semi-detached houses Tuesday night.
An unfortunate motorbike owner lost his vehicle when it crashed into the void in Bexleyheath.
The area was initially cordoned off by the police, but a cordon has since been put in place by Thames Water.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called to Martens Avenue, Bexleyheath, just before 9pm to receive reports of a large sinkhole.
“Officers were present and cordons were set up. There are no reported injuries.’
