Local activists call for peace as Biden sends more aid to Ukraine – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) — As President Joe Biden announced the latest multimillion-dollar aid package for Ukraine, protesters in Boston urged officials to work for peace in the region.
Biden said he will send a $150 million security aid package as Russia continues to attack sites in its invasion of Ukraine and besieges a steel plant in Mariupol where hundreds of militants still hold out.
At the Boston rally, protesters said the US and Russia must pull out.
“There has to be a compromise, there has to be a negotiation,” said Cole Harrison, executive director of Massachusetts Peace Action. “This matter needs to be resolved and we are going in the wrong direction. We risk a world war and a war with Russia.”
