Lil Wayne sings with LSU’s Flau’Jae Johnson

With almost thirty years in the game, Lil Wayne has earned his place as a hip-hop heavyweight track by track. But success hasn’t gone to his head. If anything, it’s a constant reminder to use its platform to shine the spotlight on the next generation of musical talent. His latest collaboration in the works will do just that, as the Louisiana native plans to jump into the studio with Louisiana State University basketball star Flau’jae Johnson.

This is by no means an accidental endeavor. The couple bonded over their love of basketball, with Wayne even facetiming the current national champion in her big win. But just as the student and athlete balances her obligations to the team, she puts in just as much effort when it comes to her rap career.

During Lil Wayne’s appearance on ESPN The Vogel and Taurasi ShowWhen asked if he’d ever bonded with Flau’jae, he replied, “Actually, me and Flau’jae β€” we’ve been talking,” before adding, “But we’ll be bonding musically soon.” So watch out.”

“And say hello to Miss Kim, too,” said the head coach of the LSU women’s basketball team. The Young Money boss said, “Miss Kim said to me, ‘You have to do something with my girl Flau’jae.’ I was like, ‘Say less.'” The host added, “Flau’jae is on the verge of a serious music career. I’m so proud of her.”

In response to the clip, Flau’jae tweeted, “Imagine winning a national championship in your freshman year! And get a Lil Wayne feature right after that?! What is life?”

No further information about the collaboration has been released, but we’re sure the duo will share more information once it’s ready to hit streaming platforms. Lil Wayne sings with LSU’s Flau’Jae Johnson
