Light snow possible south of St. Louis over windy weekend

ST. LOUIS – It feels a lot like winter as we head into the weekend. Temperatures today will be in the high 30’s to low 40’s. The average high in the St. Louis area is only 57 degrees.

A cold and windy pattern has arrived, with gusts around 30mph and wind chill readings around freezing. A shortwave will travel south of Metro St. Louis from Friday evening through Saturday morning.

This will bring clouds and the possibility of light snowfall for areas south of I-44 in Missouri and south of I-70 in Illinois. Due to the warm ground, slight accumulations of snow are to be expected.

Tomorrow we might see a little more sun, but it will still be windy. The highs are mostly in the upper 30s. On Sunday there will be less wind with highs in the low 40’s. However, the cold temperatures will be with us until the beginning of next week.
