LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The 16th murder of the year in Lexington took the life of a 28-year-old father.
Information arrived quickly in the investigation, but detectives are still looking for that piece of the puzzle that pulls this case together.
Shon Davis’ family said an anonymous tip would be the Christmas miracle they’ve been waiting for.
Shon Davis, Sr. says prayer and a positive mentality helped him move from anger to sadness to a sense of freedom and forgiveness.
“It is a difficult thing, every day. I only drink once a day,” says Davis.
It was on June 8, that his 28-year-old son, who bore the same name, was murdered while sitting in his car at 200 Hedgewood Courthouse in Woodhill.
“Shon didn’t even see it coming,” Davis said. “He was shot in the back of the head. They don’t even do it with their own faces. They did it in a cowardly, execution-like manner in his head.”
A difficult thing to explain to a 10-year-old son and Shon’s proudest achievement.
Lexington police are still looking for a piece of the puzzle that will pull all of their investigation together. They are asking someone to do it for this family, for a child who needs it to move forward.
Detective Anthony Delimpo said: “Not only do we provide a large amount of cash, but you are completely anonymous. “I don’t know who you are, where you come from. I do not know anything about you “.
