Max Verstappen reveals what he and title rival Lewis Hamilton talked about after the end of the Abu Dhabi GP.

Verstappen overtook Hamilton on the final lap in Yas Island to win the race and his first world championship. The end of the race was controversial to say the least, but Hamilton excelled in the defeat. The Mercedes driver immediately approached Verstappen and shook hands.

While speaking to David Coulthard in an interview, the 2021 F1 Champion revealed what he and Hamilton have talked about. He said the British had come to congratulate him before the celebrations began.

Max’s father Jos Verstappen commended Anthony Hamilton for coming to them after the race. The Verstappen duo were seen sharing a alone moment as Lewis’ father Anthony arrived to congratulate the two.

“When I sat with Max before he stepped onto the podium, Anthony was there.” Jos Verstappen said.

“He congratulated us, so that was really nice. Also, during the off-season, I had some conversations with him over WhatsApp. He is really good. ”
