BRAINTREE, MASS. (WHDH) — A fire in Braintree sparked a major emergency response Thursday night.

The fire started at the Clean Harbors landfill.

A few dozen firefighters were seen at the scene around 11pm when two ladder trucks poured water on at least three tractor trailers, which appeared to be on fire.

The town of Braintree shared a statement just after 11 p.m. and noticed what it described as “active fire” at Clean Harbors on Hill Ave.

“We are asking residents in the area to stay indoors and keep windows closed,” the city said.

According to the city, as of 11:03 p.m., employees from the Braintree Fire Department were on site alongside hazmat teams and other public safety agencies.

Further information was not initially available.
