Lady Gaga shared a glamorous Oscars rehearsal video

Lady Gaga’s performance of “Hold My Hand” at last week’s Academy Awards was one of the most talked about of the night. On stage she performed the Top Gun: Maverick Soundtrack anthem nominated for Best Original Song.

“I wrote this song for the film with my friend BloodPop Top Gun: Maverick in my basement studio,” Gaga said on Oscar night before her performance. “It’s deeply personal to me, and I think we all need each other. We need a lot of love to get through this life and we all need a hero at times. There are heroes all around us, in inconspicuous places, but you may find that you can be your own hero even when you’re feeling broken inside.”

During her performance, she wore a black t-shirt, ripped jeans and sneakers while also going makeup-free. Today (March 17) Gaga shared a clip on TikTok of her rehearsing the song while she’s hyper. In the clip, she sports a full face of makeup and a lush, flowy, backless dress.

“No one saw the rehearsal,” she captioned the video. “Love you all, thank you for supporting a song that means so much to me.”

While she didn’t say why she made the last-minute switch, she doesn’t have to, especially as the music spoke for itself that night.
