IF you are looking to start weight loss, cleanse your system, or increase your vitamin intake, a juice cleanse is a great idea.
They’re not easy, but you’ll feel great after a few days.
Today I’m looking at three-day juice cleanses – and our beauty editors are testing retinol, which is said to reduce the signs of wrinkles.

Eight drinks and 929 calories a day: This three-day beginner’s cleanse from Press includes eight delicious drinks per day, varying from 500ml to 250ml, with two hours between each.
I didn’t feel hungry, just energized.
Drinks range from green juices to strawberry cashew nut milkshakes.
I love beetroot, apple, lemon and ginger.
After the three days I slept better and I was full of energy, my stomach was flat and I lost over half a stone.
Good for quick results at reasonable prices. £38 a day, press-london.com.
Five drinks and 1,681 calories a day: The Juice Radiance Cleanse Company describes this as their original all-purpose clean.
It combines fruit and vegetable juices with a nut milk for some extra protein.
Great option for beginners.
Each drink is 500ml and is refreshing and filling.
There is a green, a root vegetable, and a cashew milk.
I loved the ginger lemonade – tangy and flavorful. I finished the cleanse, felt revitalized and lost 1 pound over three days.
£55 per day, radiancecleanse.com.
Six drinks and 1,050 calories a day: This three-day, Level 1 beginner’s cleanse from Plenish Drinks includes six juices per day.
With four juices, a tangy lemonade and a cashew chocolate milk per day, it is ideal for people who want to detox and enjoy a lot of variety at the same time.
Each of the six flavors has a nice texture, and I liked the taste of all of them.

HOUSEHOLD – L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Anti-Aging + Firming Pro Retinol Day Cream (£6.49 for 50ml, boots.com)
Retinol can be expensive and comes in a variety of strengths.
This cream contains pro-retinol, which is milder than retinol and does not break down when exposed to the sun’s rays.
I thought that sounded like a bargain.
It claims to give glowing skin and reduce wrinkles. But I wasn’t thrilled from the start.
This day cream felt very greasy and had an unpleasant smell. Then a bumpy rash developed on my forehead.
MEDIUM – MID – Medik8 Retinol 3TR Serum (£29.70 for 15ml, lookfantastic.com)
Enriched with 0.3% retinol, this serum is designed to complement your skin’s nightly regeneration cycle and while you sleep to rejuvenate its appearance.
I found that a little really went a long way with this silky serum, and smeared it all over my face.
It felt silky and luxurious. I noticed that it really cleared my skin of impurities and made it feel softer.
I love that it had a much needed effect by shrinking my large pores that are difficult to uncrack.
I didn’t find it too strong either. My favourite.
LUXURY – Obagi, Retinol 1.0 (£63.32 for 28 grams, skincity.com):
This is also used at night.
It claims to gently release ingredients to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
This has a wrinkle breaking 1% retinol.
It has a fairly thick consistency and a slight chemical odor, but absorbs quickly into the skin.
I used it to smooth some scars on my face as well as wrinkles on my forehead.
After a month of use I noticed a real difference but you have to build up as it’s really strong and can cause irritation.
