The Bachelorette season 17 director recently announced she’s taking a step back.

Katie Thurston took to Instagram to share a picturesque photo of herself and a surprise announcement.
In Katie’s photo, she sat on a cliff with her boyfriend John Hersey’s dog on her lap while overlooking a beautiful blue ocean against a clear and brilliant blue sky.
Katie captioned her post “Posting on the grid to say I’m going off the grid” along with a peace sign emoji.
Katie’s post suggests she will be stepping back from her 872,000 followers and taking an indefinite leave of absence online.

While many of Katie’s followers are enjoying her photos and video life updates, they also appeared to be fully supportive of Katie going off the grid despite being missed while she is away.

Are Katie Thurston and John Hersey still together?
Katie Thurston got a chance to find love in The Bachelorette season 17. At the end of her season, she became engaged to Blake Moynes.
Katie and Blake’s engagement was short-lived and the couple released a joint statement announcing they had split and gone their separate ways.
However, love was still on the horizon for Katie as she revealed she had entered into a romantic relationship with boyfriend and former contestant John Hersey.
John Hersey was sent home surprisingly early by Katie on The Bachelorette, but the two remained friends until they eventually became something more.
From now on it will appear Katie and John are still together and happily explore their relationship through fun trips and field trips.
While Katie is off the grid, she and John will likely spend more time together.
The Bachelorette premieres Monday, July 11 on ABC.
