Kanye West subreddit turns into Taylor Swift fansite

The r/Kanye subreddit, a Reddit fansite dedicated to Ye, formerly of Kanye West, has turned his attention back from the producer/rapper after he made a flurry of anti-Semitic remarks during an appearance on Alex Jones’ InfoWars talk show. Jones, who recently filed for bankruptcy after losing a $1.5 billion judgment for spreading conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre, fought back against some of during his time on the show Yes comments.

The r/Kanye sub is now focusing on Holocaust memorial posts as the rapper is said to have made statements denying the Holocaust on the right-wing show, stating, “I don’t really care about Hitler that much, I love him. No, he seems like a cool guy, you know, it’s like he has a really cool outfit and stuff and he’s a really good architect, but he didn’t kill six million Jews, which is factually wrong.”

To focus talks on combating the hate speech Ye has been voicing online and in interviews (his Twitter account has since been suspended), the r/Kanye sub has started posting Taylor Swift memes, a nod to The Interruption of “Shake It Off” won the singer’s Best Music Video at the 2009 VMAs.

The rapper’s comments have been so inflammatory of late that even die-hard Ye supporters have welcomed the subreddit’s rebranding. The posters for the submarine certainly contained several somber reminders of the atrocities that took place in concentration camps, such as the fact that some mass graves contained so many corpses that heavy machinery had to be used to move them.

On InfoWars, Ye was also criticized for saying that “every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler.”

Ye was also reported to have said, “I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” and a series of other statements that many described as anti-Semitic and hateful.

Jones told Ye during their conversation, “You’re not Hitler, you’re not a Nazi, you don’t deserve to be called that and demonized,” to which the producer replied, “I see good things in Hitler, too. This guy who invented highways invented the very microphone that I use as a musician. You can’t say out loud that this person has ever done any good, and I’m done with that.”

Many viewers who caught Ye’s performance on InfoWars said he “freaked out” Jones and managed to kill the man who once went viral for launching an impassioned diatribe about a chemical in water that allegedly “makes frogs gay.” ‘ looked ‘healthy’ by comparison.

However, there were others who were concerned about the rapper’s mental health, stating that it was irresponsible for TV show hosts and other media outlets to have him as a guest as they exploit his bipolar disorder for views. Some have stated that Yes’s comments should be treated as the words of someone suffering from an acute mental illness.

Psychiatrists have also noted that Ye’s continued demonization may ultimately do more harm than good, as noted by Everyday Health’s Allison Young, who said: “Another worrying trend I’ve noticed is that many people have tried to contain their mockery and to justify their criticism of Ye because they feel they are calling out hateful and abusive behavior.” Young continued that while Kanye does say hateful things, it’s important to understand that he has a mental illness and should be treated as such.
