The 24-year-old Brazilian has played a significant role in improving the Gunners’ defense under Mikel Arteta and has formed a strong partnership in defense with Ben White.
However, Juventus have been keeping a close eye on his developments at the Emirates as they look for a replacement for their veteran defender Giorgio Chiellini, who played his last game for the club.
According to The Mirror, the Serie A giants have their sights set on Gabriel and believe they can lure him to Italy with a move.
On Sunday Arsenal missed out on a Champions League spot against rivals Tottenham and Gabriel could be interested in playing in Europe’s premier club competition again.
His departure would be a huge loss for Arteta, who bought the defender from Lille for £27million in 2020.
He has made 78 appearances for the north Londoners and has scored eight goals – including five this season.
Arsenal are not particularly blessed with left-sided centre-backs and are said to be targeting an understudy for Gabriel this summer.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have already let Konstantinos Mavropanos leave for Stuttgart and Pablo Mari is expected to secure a permanent move to Udinese.
With Arteta’s side back in the Europa League, he will need more options to choose from next season and will be reluctant to let the first players go.
Earlier this year, the Spaniard indicated he is aiming for a top-quality 25-man squad with multiple options at each position.
Arsenal’s priorities this summer are reportedly two forwards, a central midfielder and two full-backs.
