Jurgen Klopp expects Erling Haaland to get used to hitting tap-ins at the back post when he joins Manchester City this summer and says the prolific striker is “unfortunately a really good signing” for the Premier League champions .

A deal to bring Haaland to City from Borussia Dortmund has been agreed and the 21-year-old will bring his immense goalscoring talent to the Premier League for the first time.

The Norwegian has enjoyed success for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and Champions League and is now expected to be deadly for Pep Guardiola’s side, a side who don’t struggle to create chances.

The tall, physical and speedy striker can score all sorts of goals but Klopp reckons he’ll enjoy getting across the box on end balls and tap-ins at the back post at City.

There’s no disgrace for the player or his new team, with the German admitting it’s a fantastic signing for his side’s biggest rivals.

“Good player… good player,” said Klopp of Haaland. “City have never been and never will be a team that wins games because of a player, because of the way they play.

“I think Erling will realize that suddenly he’s going to be scoring a lot of goals at the second post where he just puts a foot on it, so he’s going to love that.

“In other situations, he’s a real beast. He’s been injured a few times at Dortmund but when he’s fit he’s a real beast.

“Unfortunately, a really good signing.”

Haaland has himself admitted he had injury worries and said staying fit is the only thing he would do to improve his game.

“If there’s one thing I can improve on, it’s not getting injured,” said the Norwegian. “If I’m not injured, I’ll play a lot more games and play even better.”
