Jordan Henderson hailed his Liverpool team-mates for helping him set a club record after Saturday FA Cup final triumph.
The England international became the first Reds skipper to win six different trophies after Jurgen Klopp’s side eventually prevailed 6-5 on penalties following a goalless draw.
Henderson had already perfected trophy lifting, having previously lifted the Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
After a thrilling battle that mirrored the League Cup final earlier this season, Henderson was ultimately indebted to goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who saved from Mason Mount on penalties before Kostas Tsimikas scored the decisive penalty.
In response to creating a piece of personal history, Henderson told the BBC: “Trophies are what we’re here for.
“Coming here, working so hard to get across the border – it’s a big moment. The fans deserve it. It’s pretty special.
“We had so many games in such a short time but that’s what it’s all about. tackle. Winning on penalties again – that belongs to the boys.
“We have to give everything. Some of the talent we have in the dressing room is incredible. We just have to keep going.
“We need to recover quickly – we need to be prepared for that. The Wolves – then Madrid. Three big games left and hopefully we can win all three.’
