“One thing is for sure, the main issues he faced have all been resolved,” he said. “Any minor matters will be minor compared to what he’s been dealing with over the past few days.”

Maximillius’ assistant coach Michael Kent Jnr said Brown was a “wonderful person” and that he and others in the racing community felt ill after the incident.

Brown had ridden Group 1-winning horses in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington in October and the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield in August.
