Has Tarzan found his Jane? Not quite. Jill Chin and Jakob Rapini’s relationship up Bachelors in paradise was rocky, but the two members of Bachelor Nation were able to (briefly) connect off-screen.
Chin and Rapini both arrived in week 1 of season 2022, but didn’t bond until episode five. After a successful trip and a rose ceremony, they faced their first hurdle as hosts Jess Palmer announced that the female contestants would spend a week at a different resort as new contestants arrived at their respective locations. After all, “Split Week” was their end in Mexico, as Rapini said Kate Gallivan.
While his romance with Gallivan didn’t last long, Chin left the series before he could give things with the architectural historian another chance. That bachelorette Season 19 Alum Tells Us weekly in October 2022 that he regrets how everything went.
“Obviously Kate and I were gone by that point and I was totally fine with that. I wish I had tried to follow us just as a couple. Getting engaged in the end, probably not, but us as an actual relationship where, you know, we could just talk and have fun like we were before. I kind of wish that [we] continued things,” he explained. “What I did there was I said, ‘Okay, look, I don’t want to lead you any further. I want you to see if you can find your soulmate here.” I didn’t want her to leave right away. I didn’t think she would leave right away. But after what happened to her and Romeo and then having a relationship with her and I, Jill just said, ‘You know what? Enough is enough. I should go.’ I still wish I’d just said, ‘Let’s just see what you and I have.'”
After the show wrapped in the summer of 2022, the two reunited during the reunion, which aired in November, updating fans.
“We just started talking. We phoned outside every other day paradise‘ Rapini said Us after taping. “It’s fun. … We said no pressure at all, but we’re open to a relationship.”
Chin in turn told Us that they work on their communication.
“We’re researching it. I think it’s really in its infancy right now, so we’ll just have to see. We need to explore more. We need to have more conversations, make dates, spend some quality time together and then decide from there. But so far everything is going well,” she says. “I find [our next step is] to communicate our needs and our feelings. Get to know him on a deeper level. I didn’t get to know him very well at the beach, but we had such a great conversation last night. I just think we’re spending more time together. We’re going to have to do some trips, so I think some trips are definitely in the future. And then we’ll see what happens from there.”

A connection on the beach
The two stripped naked on their first date after Chin’s brief relationship Romeo Alexander completed.
“There’s a whole other side of him where he’s so cute. He’s really smart,” Chin said parade their association with Rapini. “I know he comes across as this ‘himbo’ and such a goof, and he is, but he definitely has a lot of depth.”

Shared week
While Chin was struggling at the other resort, Rapini bonded with Gallivan. After they were reunited, Chin broke down and left the show after Rapini thought he had a stronger connection with the real estate agent.

“We still talk a lot,” Rapini said Us when the episodes aired. “Jill is an amazing person. She is really a sweet person. I wish she wasn’t so emotional about me in this particular case just because I’m a funny goofy person and just like to have fun. Finally, I’m here for a suggestion. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. But again, it’s sad to see her go like this.”

Fans learned that Chin and Rapini gave things another chance.
“It turns out your beautiful personality really is the one for me🥰😅 I’m honored to call you mine after going through all the chaos we’ve endured. After rekindling a three day relationship on the beach, we both realized we were the right people for each other,” he gushed via Instagram after the finale aired. I’m really looking forward to spending quality time with you on the east coast and with you here on the west. Nice that you stayed open for us💖😊💙.”

Chin revealed on the Click Bait podcast that it’s already over.
“I had no other, I had no other choice. I literally had no other choice. I had to do what was best for me. And there’s just a line and such a thing as standards that you have for yourself that you just can’t let people cross. I have no ill will. I don’t wish for anything bad,” she said. “Trust was broken. And that in a long-distance relationship you need communication and trust, and we didn’t have either.”

After Chin confirmed their split, Rapini wrote her a lengthy note via Instagram to take responsibility for the split. “You deserve to be loved. Right now I deserve to be alone. Jill, good luck on your journey angel🖤,” he wrote in part.
