Jassy Correia’s fatal kidnapping case goes before jury – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) — A jury in a Boston courtroom weighed the final arguments in a fatal kidnapping case, but reached no verdict following Tuesday’s closing arguments.

Prosecutors brought their latest case against Louis Coleman, who is charged with kidnapping resulting in death, saying he took Jassy Correia after he left a nightclub in 2019 and then killed her. Correia’s body was found in a suitcase in Coleman’s car four days after her disappearance.

Prosecutors showed video of Correa getting into Coleman’s car that night, as well as video of him carrying her body to his apartment, showing evidence of a fight in his car. Coleman’s attorneys said the fight was a back-and-forth, arguing prosecutors failed to prove kidnapping or murder beyond a reasonable doubt.

The jury will resume its deliberations on Wednesday.
