Jarryd Hayne’s sexual assault case faced and appealed by three juries: a timeline

Former NRL player Jarryd Hayne was arrested in November 2018 for sexually assaulting a Newcastle woman and was found guilty a second time more than four years later.

On Tuesday, after more than 20 hours of deliberation, the third jury dealing with the matter returned a unanimous verdict. Hayne had successfully appealed a guilty verdict in the second trial.

Outside court, Hayne said Tuesday he maintains his innocence “100 percent” and is “fairly confident” about a further appeal.

Here’s a recap of Hayne’s journey through the criminal justice system.
