Jamie Carragher reacts to Liverpool accepting Bayern Munich bid for Sadio Mane | Soccer

Jamie Carragher has lamented the impending loss Sadio Mane after Liverpool accepted an offer from Bayern Munich for the Senegalese international.
It was Mane’s arrival from Southampton in the summer of 2016 that really helped kickstart Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield revolution and the versatile striker has been a mainstay of Liverpool’s recent success.
After six years at the Merseyside club, the 30-year-old is ready for a new challenge and is likely to fill the formidable goalscoring boots of Robert Lewandowski, who appears destined to join Barcelona this summer.
Mane has often had to play second fiddle to his criminal Liverpool man Mohamed Salah, who was recently crowned PFA Player of the Year, but Carragher has reserved a special place in his heart for Mane and is devastated when the player leaves.
My favorite Liverpool player of that era, Sadio Mane, is finally leaving.’ Carragher wrote on Twitter.
‘Low maintenance, high performance and never hurt! Trophies and goals galore, a true Liverpool legend. Thank you Sadio!’
Liverpool have already tried to compensate for Mane’s departure by signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica for what may be a record-breaking fee from the club.
With Luis Diaz, who was recruited in January, making an immediate impression upon arrival from Porto, as well as Digo Jota and Roberto Firmino to fall back on, Klopp still has a considerable wealth of options to choose from.
Carragher rated Liverpool’s best front three, saying earlier this week: “Liverpool need to freshen up the front line because of the age of those front three who have been absolutely fantastic with Liverpool over the last four or five years.
“It’s sad to see that it fell apart in a way, but it had to come to an end sooner or later.
“With Sadio Mane looking like he was going to move on, Liverpool had to do something and he is the one they have identified.
“I think by the start of next season the Liverpool front three will be Salah, Nunez and Diaz on the left.”
