Famed radio host Jackie “O” Henderson on Saturday invested $13.25 million in a three-story oceanfront home overlooking Clovelly Beach, the most expensive auction result in Sydney.
In front of 80 spectators on Saturday afternoon, three registered bidders competed for the towering six-bedroom, three-bathroom seafront to be upgraded or remodeled.
The bidding opened at $9 million, and the parties submitted two whopping bids of $500,000. Bidders then submitted multiple $250,000 bids.
When the bid hit $11.5 million, Henderson had had enough. However, with a change of heart, she got back on track with $11.7 million.
Bidding slowed to $100,000 increments until the gavel fell at $13.25 million, securing the hotly contested lot for the KIIS FM radio star.
The auction ended after 10 minutes, well above the $10 million guideline and $12 million reserve. The sellers are delighted.
According to public records, the sellers are Kierin Deeming and Justine Hall, who paid $6.01 million in 2019.
