Is Joel dead in The Last Of Us?

“Kin” begins with a death. Does it end with someone else?

In the sixth episode of The last of us, Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) make it to Jackson, Wyoming, where the Miller brothers are reunited after years apart. It’s a tense reunion, however, as Tommy (Gabriel Luna) has become a communist (he literally lives on a commune), while Joel is bitter about the things they’ve done. The death of his daughter Sarah (Nico Parker) still hurts him. “Just because life stopped for you,” says Tommy, “doesn’t mean it has to stop for me.”

Meanwhile, Ellie finds out about Sarah from Tommy’s wife, Maria (Rutina Wesley). She also gets her hair cut and wonders why girls were so obsessed with boys and clothes before society collapsed, but that’s neither here nor there.

During a heart-to-heart conversation, Joel, who suffers from panic attacks, tells Tommy why Ellie is so important and asks him to complete the mission. Or as Ellie, who overheard the whole conversation, sums it up: “I have to leave her. You have to take her with you.” The next morning she has the choice between being transported by Joel or Tommy… Joel. Ellie chooses Joel. They eventually make it to where the fireflies are supposed to be at a Colorado university, but they’ve moved on; all that’s left are medical devices and monkeys. Lots and lots of monkeys. Also attackers, one of whom stabs Joel with a knife.

Joel and Ellie escape, but when they take no immediate harm, Joel falls off the horse. He’s bleeding from the knife wound. “I can’t fucking do this without you,” says Ellie, tears in her eyes. is joel dead The ones who played The last of us Video game knows the answer.
