Internet services shut down in Bhilwara City in Rajasthan after attack on 2 people

Bhilwara city in Rajasthan’s internet services have been suspended for 24 hours after two people were attacked by unidentified gunmen and their bicycle set on fire. The incident was reported in the Sanganer area of Bhilwara last night.
“Last night an incident was reported in the Sanganer area of Bhilwara where two people were attacked by unidentified persons while they were having some food. Her bicycle was also set on fire. We are investigating the matter,” Ashish Modi, District Collector Bhilwara, told media people.
The county government official said that one person sustained minor injuries, while the other suffered minor head injuries and is in stable condition.
Investigations have been launched into the matter and the district administration is working with the police to check nearby CCTV footage.
The District Collector of Bhilwara further appealed to the people to ignore rumors and to keep the peace in the area. Further investigations are ongoing.
Internet services were also suspended in Patiala district of Punjab late last month. The government shut down mobile internet and SMS services after clashes broke out between two groups during an anti-Khalistan march, leaving four people injured. The Home and Justice Departments ordered internet and cell phone services to be suspended, although voice calls were still allowed. Strong police protection was also deployed in the area where the incident occurred.
