Instacart customer receives order from Kroger instead of Costco

Another TikToker has taken to the platform to share her frustrations with Instacart after facing issues with her order.

Raquel Martin (@raquelmartinphd) proclaimed that the grocery delivery service “will never get another dollar out of her” before explaining to viewers the saga that has brought her to this point.

“I ordered groceries from Costco on Sunday and you know that’s a big wallet energy. Big wallet energy, okay?” she narrates in the clip. “Ordered my delivery. My delivery was late. I get my order and it was the wrong delivery. Instead of getting my large wallet energy order from Costco, I got a small wallet energy from Kroger.”

After calling customer service, Martin was told to keep the items that were delivered but she would have to wait until the next day for them to replace her actual order as her buyer was already away from her.

The Costco order included items she needed for her young children, including diapers, so she stressed that she really needed delivery by the following morning, which she was assured.

“1 p.m. comes, my order appears,” she continued. “And my order is wrong again. An item is missing and another item is not the correct brand. So I’m screwed again.”

Martin says she called customer service again but this time was told they could only give her a refund – but would have to call back in four hours to get it.

“So I don’t have the items I ordered two days ago, I tipped someone…$25 for not giving me my order and now I have to go to the store. So I paid for the inconvenience,” she concludes.

Speaking to the Daily Dot, Martin confirmed there was no resolution to the situation because she didn’t have time to call back herself.

“Someone reached out on TikTok, but no one had time to reach me personally,” she added. “It’s a joke to be left out on a Sunday night with two kids without the things I needed and basically being told to find out.”

“I consider myself very privileged to have the time to keep calling,” she added. “Not to mention the fact that I paid for items I never received, so I had to buy them again and wait for a refund if I ever got hold of someone who did.” Others are not so fortunate to be as flexible in their income.”

Viewers were sympathetic to her situation, as many had had similarly frustrating experiences with Instacart.

“I just canceled it today,” wrote one user. “My groceries have been stolen, shoppers are ignoring the chat. Instacart doesn’t matter.”

“They once wanted to charge me for postponing a delivery because the buyer dropped my food on the steps of my apartment building and ruined everything,” added another.

Several commenters said they work in grocery stores and often see orders “messed up” or observe shoppers treating the items in a way that has convinced them never to use Instacart for themselves.

“I’ve been thinking about using Instacart,” commented another TikToker. “I don’t need that stress so it’s a no for me now. I just go to the store.”
