India vs Australia: Tim Paine fined for showing dissent to umpire | Cricket News

DUBAI: Australia captain Tim Paine was on Sunday fined 15 per cent of his match payment for displaying dissent at an umpire’s resolution on day three of the third Check in opposition to India in Sydney.
Paine was discovered to have breached “Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Gamers and Participant Help Personnel”.
“Along with this, one demerit level has been added to the disciplinary report of Paine, for whom it was the primary offence in a 24-month interval,” the ICC stated in a press release.

The incident occurred within the 56th over of India’s first innings on Saturday when Paine criticized the umpire’s resolution following an unsuccessful DRS assessment in opposition to Cheteshwar Pujara.

Paine admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by David Boon of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees and ratified by the ICC Cricket Operations division as per the COVID-19 interim enjoying laws.

There was no want for a proper listening to. On-field umpires Paul Reiffel and Paul Wilson, third umpire Bruce Oxenford and fourth official Claire Polosak levelled the cost.
Degree 1 breaches carry a minimal penalty of an official reprimand, a most penalty of fifty per cent of a participant’s match payment, and one or two demerit factors.
