A CRAFTY style expert has unveiled a cheap hack that makes old clothes instantly more wearable for just $3.
TikToker Taylor Capone showed how to use cheap black paint to breathe new life into old clothes.
“Making these clothes black so I can actually wear them,” the smart woman said in a viral video that has nearly 10 million views.
The video features a selection of pieces ranging from light pink and beige to darker shades of blue.
Taylor shows off the outfits in a nice before shot as she reveals her cheap trick.
With a $3 bottle of Rit Black Multi-Purpose Dye, the TikToker was able to completely transform her old clothes.
In the video, she poured the entire bottle into a large pot of simmering water.
She then added some dish soap before dozing into her clothes.
In the comments, Taylor said she wanted more of a charcoal look, so she just left everything in the color for an hour.
A follow-up video shows the awesome results of the clothing experiment that viewers became obsessed with.
“I wasted so many clothes not knowing it was even possible,” one person commented.
Another user said: “The dress is so amazing, can’t wait to see it after round two.”
Taylor said in the comments that the pink dress, which came out ash gray, would get another round of Rit coloration.
Other people had tips when the black dye had too much of a purple hue after dyeing red clothes.
“And orange and black rit color and color those that are to become blacker. The range will be lifted,” said one savvy commenter.
In her final video of the series, Taylor showed how the dress went black after taking the advice and dying it a second time.
This comes when a super fan of a thrift store revealed her secret trick on how to breathe new life into old clothes.
And a fashion pro cut years off her age by following these four simple steps.
