SKIMS has taken the world by storm, with several collections selling out shortly after their release on the website.
A medium-sized fashion blogger shared her “brutally candid” review of Kim Kardashian’s line, giving her some serious thoughts.
YouTuber Sierra Schultzzie, who is a 2X, capitalized on a SKIMS swimwear launch and bought some of his best-selling items.
As she began to open her packages, the mother-of-one noticed the material was thicker than she expected.
“I was actually expecting to be thin and see-through, so happy to see that’s not the case,” she told her followers in the video.
BIKER SHORTS BIKINI
Wearing the first outfit, which consisted of swim biker shorts, a bikini top and a crop top, she said: “My only complaint about the fit of the bike shorts is that it’s mid-camel toe, but you can’t really avoid that with tightness – Matching shorts like these so it is what it is.
“I give them eight out of ten. I like the swim top too, I feel like it’s a bit small on me, I squirt on the sides.”
The second swimsuit Schultzzie bought was a thong bottom with a triangle top.
“It’s a very small amount of fabric, I’m very nervous,” she said, holding up the revealing pieces.
But once she tried them on, she was “comfortable with the amount of coverage.”
She was happy with the pants, how they fit, but with the top, again: “I feel like I have no support at all.”
She continued, “I also feel like I’m squirting out the sides so it’s not very big breast friendly. The fit just isn’t great. That will be returned.”
“String bikinis used to be my biggest fear,” she noted, pulling the pieces out.
That’s when she realized the top was way too small to be a 2X.
“That’s tiny!” she expressed and as she tried them on she realized they weren’t made for her.
Wearing a bra underneath for more coverage, she told her followers: “I don’t have a lot of nice things on the top at least.
“I tried it on my own first and there was no way I could manipulate the fabric so it didn’t bulge out in the center, sides and underbust.
“I didn’t feel comfortable wearing that alone on the internet. That’s just way too small.
“I’m like a 40D and there’s just no way. If something fits me that badly, nothing else matters because I can’t wear it.”
Another the influencer bought was a cut-out one-piece swimsuit.
“Let me start by saying that putting on this bikini was a journey of self-discovery,” she told the camera while rocking the outfit and pouring out of every corner.
“Here you need instructions on how to dress. It’s really good from the waist down, but it wasn’t made for a D cup. I wish it had more fabric! As it stands now, it won’t work. It’s a pure lounge suit.”
Actually, Schultzzie was wearing the suit and was struggling to stop it in the water.
When we put it to the test, the pounding of the waves almost made her top and bottoms slide right off.
“Not the most functional swimsuit for swimming, but it’s fantastic for vacation,” she explained.
“But even when I was out of the water, I was adjusting things all the time. It’s not practical, but I still love it.”
Other women have tried SKIMS before and haven’t had the best of luck.
