IF YOU hate redecorating your home, you are not alone.
While the idea may be fun and the end result is always beautiful, the actual process of stripping wallpaper, moving furniture, and hanging picture frames is exhausting.
But if you want your home to always look chic and stylish, there is one thing you can do – choose a timeless style when you first decorate it.
This comes after a viewer asked interior designer Phoenix Gray for some tips. They said, “Can you do some styles that are timeless?
“[I’m] I’m renovating my house, but I don’t want it to be outdated after a few years.”
According to the pro, there are four interior styles that will stand the test of time.
Though the pro admitted it’s not his personal style, the timeless look will age well and transcend trends.
He said: “It gets bonus points for its beautiful detailing and support structure to its architectural roots.
“It honestly has the most beautiful character.”
You can recognize this style from the feminine features like curved lines and luxurious feel.
Phoenix explained, “Mid-century modernism has to be on this list because it received significant recognition in the 1950s.
“It defined so many characteristics of design styles that we see today.”
If you’re a fan of a more masculine sense of space, love muted tones and wood and graphic shapes, this could be the style for you.
Although elements of this style are constantly coming in and out of style, they will always look timeless and sophisticated in any home.
“I might get some hate on this one, but contemporary style is more timeless than it isn’t,” said the pro.
The “clean and understated” is easy to customize if you ever want to change small elements in your home.
“The style itself draws many influences from all other design styles and creates a timeless look.”
This style is known for its natural elements and robustness.
It usually includes wood, stone, and even leaves for an unpolished finish that still looks cohesive.
Phoenix said, “It’s practical yet natural and an earthy organic palette will always be timeless no matter what style and design you go with.”
