IF you’ve ever wanted to make your bed look like it belongs in a fancy hotel, you’re not alone.
There are a few simple steps you can follow to make you feel like you’re on a sweet getaway every time you step into your bedroom.
TikToker and interior design expert Ashley posted a video with instructions on how to make your bed to hotel standards.
She begins her video by saying, “My first tip for clean lines is to tuck corners. I did this for both my top sheet and quilt.”
She says, “I start by tucking in the sides, but I skip the bottom.”
She then stretches out her arm to straighten the corner before folding it up and tucking it under the mattress.
Ashley says that if you’re going for an extra cloudy look with your bed, you’ll definitely need more than one comforter.
She tells viewers, “I have two, and honestly, if I thought I wasn’t going to fry, I’d pop in a third.”
Ashley then describes the importance of tying the duvet corners together to secure them and prevent them from sliding around.
Next, she pulls the comforter halfway onto her bed to make room for all the pillows, which she is lining up.
She recommends using king-size pillows in queen-size pillowcases for a fluffier look.
Ashley says: “I feel like contrasting fabrics make it look more luxurious but still cozy. So I have three of the larger brown pillows and two of the velvety shiny ones.”
Although her video has nearly two million views and many fans, not everyone in Ashley’s comments section loves her idea for a hotel standard bed.
“What temperature is your house set to at night? We’re sweating with a duvet,” wrote one reviewer.
Another person jokingly added, “Some people have too much serotonin. It can’t be me!”
Another person added: “Two duvets??? Girl, I’m roasting in one!”
A fourth person wrote, “Laying down a duvet and a duvet is hard enough… It looks nice though.”
Another commented, “This is so inconvenient unless it’s for show and not for sleeping.”
Still others left positive and encouraging comments for Ashley.
Someone wrote, “Love this and the colors!”
Another person wrote, “I didn’t realize you had to use a sheet and then a quilt, but it looks amazing!”
