A lavish looking home doesn’t require the most extravagant budget.
In fact, you can make your home look both classy and expensive with a few simple, inexpensive updates, according to one home decor expert.
“How to make your house look expensive on a budget,” interior designer Dani Marie began in a TikTok video that was uploaded to her 373,000 TikTok followers.
First, Dani emphasized the inclusion of natural stone.
She said: “Natural stones like marble and quartz scream high-end. However, you don’t have to completely remodel your kitchen or have a marble fireplace to get this look.”
Dani explained that the key is to incorporate smaller pieces of marble or stone into your design.
According to the expert, almost any item with an organic or natural appearance will look sophisticated even in small quantities.
LIMIT ALL UNREST
Next, while you’re on the hunt for an expensive-looking home, Dani said clutter should be limited.
“This might be hard to swallow, but clutter can ruin the look of any room.
“Keeping surfaces clean is key. It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on your house if it’s full of junk.”
HIGH QUALITY FABRICS
Quality fabrics and materials also play a role in creating a luxurious looking home.
“Choosing quality fabrics and materials can instantly upgrade a space,” said Dani.
She shared that an affordable way to do this is to incorporate beautiful fabrics like linen and woven fabrics into your pillows or bed.
REAL AND HEALTHY PLANTS
“Owning and caring for real plants is a great way to add sophistication to any space,” said Dani.
“Also, don’t be afraid to look for some wild green flowers. I love putting these in vases and scattering them around my house.”
