The 16 second clip shows Maria holding the glass in different ways, either by the goblet, stem or bottom.

Each time Maria demonstrates how people hold the glass, she shakes her head to indicate it is wrong.

After a few times, Maria will show you how to hold the glass correctly.

As shown in their video, you should hold the jar near the bottom of the with your fingers resting near the base.

The video was viewed thousands of times and people shared their thoughts in the comments.

“Hold white wine like this so your hand doesn’t warm it up,” one person wrote. “Red wine tolerates being held higher as heat releases aromas.”

Maria replied: “Thanks for your comment, but it depends on what wine you drink. For most red wines, the best temperature is 15-20 degrees.”

Others indicated that they don’t care how they hold their wine glasses.

“In the end it doesn’t matter, it’s through the mouth,” one person wrote.

“Jesus I’m just going to pour myself straight from the bottle to my mouth and not even use a glass,” wrote another.

A third wrote: “Just drink it.”

Maria replied, “Etiquette is situational! Not an exact science.”
