According to baby name expert Pamela Redmond of Nameberry Creator, there are some very bizarre names that are gaining popularity in the US.

ABC Everyday reported that lately, parents are giving their children more unique names to give them individuality and self-expression.

As Statista reports, about 3.75 million babies are born in the US each year, so finding a name that isn’t overused can be difficult.

These unique baby names are growing in popularity across the US in hopes that their little one will stand out.

According to SSA’s current (2021) US Popularity List, the names Azriel and Azrael represent “the angel of death in the Abrahamic religions.”

Cannon was another popular name, with 579 boys being named after the gun.

The name Chandler, a popular male character on the series Friends, has risen among baby girls, with 303 girls and 455 boys taking the name.

Elon, yes, closely linked to Elon Musk, was a controversial baby name, but 234 boys were named that.

The next name on the list was Halo, which means “she better be an angel” and was given to 384 little girls and even 45 little boys.

The biblical name Jericho has skyrocketed in popularity and has been given to 286 little boys and 20 little girls.

With historical significance, 307 babies have been given the name Kaiser, and despite Game of Thrones ending in 2019, the name Khaleesi has grown and been given to 408 babies.

The devil’s name, Lucifer, was even given to 69 little boys, out of the 54 who received the name in 2020.

According to Nameberry, Mazikeen is a name inspired by a Hebrew word for harmful spirits, yet 277 little girls were given the name.

Sandra saw an increase in 255 baby girls in 2021, and 874 boys were named Stetson or a hat.

The Thatcher name rose in popularity from 842 to 813 and was given to 296 little boys.

Inspired by the Smith & Wesson gun brand, 305 babies were named Wesson in 2021.
