I’m an Aldi shopper – the reason there are so many barcodes on their products, with a stick of butter having FIVE

A SHOPPING expert shared why Aldi has so many barcodes on its products.
Avid Aldi shopper Lauren Greutman pointed out that a pack of butter featured five barcodes – one on each of the five sides of the box.

But she revealed that the excess labels aren’t a misprint, but an important design decision.
The packages have multiple barcodes because they help cashiers scan items faster.
Aldi doesn’t want defective barcodes to hold up the line. Adding multiple barcodes to a package ensures the barcode is scanned the first time.
This hack helps employees work efficiently.
A customer showed how many barcodes were on a Lucky Charms cereal box in a video.

In addition to the barcode hack, Aldi stores and employees have other options to offer customers the best shopping experience.
The store wants to ensure that all customers have a fair chance to purchase some of their most popular items.
To ensure this, an Aldi store removed certain pre-packaged meats from its shelves to prevent them from being stolen or bought in bulk.
TikTok user Brittanyy Gawarecki shared that customers must now ask store associates to pull up high-demand products for them to purchase.
This is similar to how stores like Walmart and Target store high-value items in sealed plastic boxes.
Aldi fans have also figured out the best days to shop at the store.
The store, known for its cheap products, is offering more product deals on Wednesday.
Aldi also stocks its Hot Deals section with greatly reduced items on Sundays.
Check out the Store app for even more deals.

The app includes weekly announcements that promote low-cost items across the store, notify customers when new items become available, and scanner capabilities.
The app is available for both iPhone and Android users.
