Sex furniture has come to the market to help you spice things up whenever — and wherever — the mood strikes.

“Sex furniture is furniture or props that are specifically designed for sexual and erotic activity,” Casey Tanner, a board-certified sex therapist, told Inside Hook.

These pieces of furniture can help couples with positioning during sex.

Ideally, the furniture should increase comfort and pleasure.

Examples of sex furniture include wedges and pillows, but can also go beyond these props.

Liberator, a brand available on Amazon, has a variety of products including moisture-resistant sensual blankets, chairs, and lounges.

Some of the brand’s chaise lounges are designed for ergonomic sex and even include washable covers.

While the larger pieces of furniture may not go well with your living room aesthetic, they can definitely make your bedroom a more sex-friendly space.

Like the chaise longues, other Liberator pieces are activity specific.

“Some sex furniture has built-in restraints for those interested in bondage, and other sex furniture includes a sex toy mount for hands-free solo or partner play,” Tanner said.

Piece prices vary. Smaller props cost less, while chairs and lounges are understandably more expensive.

As Tanner noted, sex furniture has another added benefit in that it can provide greater accessibility for individuals of different abilities.

“Sex furniture can be especially useful for people with physical disabilities, limited mobility, or chronic pain, as it can help support the body in certain positions, which can increase pleasure and comfort,” Tanner said.
