I’m a parenting expert – what to do if your child disappears in a public place, my tip could save their life

ONE of the biggest fears that comes with parenthood is the thought of your child being kidnapped.
Since the threat of a kidnapping scenario is very real, it is important to be as prepared as possible.

Parenting expert and TikToker Jess Martini posted a PSA detailing a very important tip.
She begins by saying, “This is a video that I think every parent, guardian, caregiver, or anyone who is responsible for children on a regular basis should listen to.”
Jess then begins to describe what you should do if your child disappears in a public place.
She says you must immediately search for your child loudly.

Jess explains, “What I mean by that is you want to start screaming her description.”
The example she gives is: “I am looking for a boy, six years old, brown hair, brown eyes! Red Nike t-shirt, black shorts, black shoes!”
She goes on to say that you have to keep screaming your child’s description.
If you do, according to Jess, all eyes will be on your child at once.
Jess says the best possible scenario is someone discovers your child and brings it back to you.
Another possible scenario is that the kidnapper lets your child go because they are frightened by all the commotion you are causing.
If your child just ran away and there are no dangerous forces at play, it’s still wonderful when lots of people band together to help find them.
Getting your child back is the ultimate goal here.
If you can save your child based on how loudly you shout his description over and over again, you’ll be relieved that you knew that information.

Someone in Jess’ comments section confirmed the plan of action, saying, “I was at Disney World in late March and a mom used this method to search for her missing son… and it worked!”
Another person wrote, “I used to work in an aquarium and we had a mom who did that once – I’ve never seen a room full of people jump into action so quickly.”

A third person commented: “This happened to a lion last week. The mother started shouting this information. The ENTIRE store went silent and Mom’s voice was all you heard. We found this boy!”
A fourth person added a thoughtful suggestion, saying: “Also, if a parent doesn’t know this and is panicking, ASK THEM what [the child] wear and YOU can help them shout it.”
