THIS mom has an easy and fun way to keep bugs away at all times.
The two-ingredient recipe calls for limes and whole cloves.
Shannon, better known as @AtHomeWith.Shannon, showed viewers how to halve the limes and tuck the whole cloves into the pulp.
Leaving these on the table or anywhere near you while you are outside will ensure that the bugs don’t ruin your day.
She says that sometimes she and the kids use the carnations to make cute smiley faces in the limes, which makes it a family activity too.
If you fall victim to mosquito bites, another mom found a way to prevent itching and redness.
The TikTok mom regularly shares hacks on her page, and with warmer evenings, this one is finally much needed.
She revealed that she and her children are “allergic to mosquitoes,” which means they end up with nasty red bumps all over their bodies.
“What takes away the redness and itching is Vicks,” she revealed.
Vicks is commonly used to treat coughs and colds after being applied to the skin, so it’s surprising to hear of another clever use for it.
Instead of carrying around a tub of the stuff, the mom says she puts some in an old chapstick or lip balm container and keeps it in her bag.
Then, at the first sign of a dreaded bite, she can whip it out and rub some Vicks over the spot – which works for her every time.
The reason it works is because Vicks contains menthol which is believed to produce a cooling sensation and in turn stop the itching.
According to Health.com, the formula also contains nutmeg oil, which has anti-inflammatory properties and helps reduce the size of the bump.
