We could see the royal family enjoying the performance, but were you wondering what they had to say about it?

John Cassidy, a lip-reading expert, gave Metro exactly what was said as they watched the ceremony.

Prince Louis exclaimed, “Woah, those are the Red Arrows!” as he watched them fly over Buckingham Palace.

The four-year-old was ecstatic and a huge fan of the planes – as he reached out to mum and dad, Kate Middleton and Prince William to share his excitement.

Queen Elizabeth II was also impressed by the past and present flybys of 70 aircraft representing British forces, saying: “This is our air force… the Apaches.”

She also pointed out how “clever” the formation of the Apache helicopters, RAF fast jets and wartime planes was.

The Duchess of Cambridge made sure her children could see the reds well by painting the sky red, white and blue.

Pointing out the moment to Prince Louis, Prince George, 8, and Princess Charlotte, 7, she said: “See the smoke!”

The memorable flight included 70 aircraft representing each year Her Majesty ascended the throne.

Thousands of people joined the royal family who took to the streets to watch the ceremony.

The Queen waved to the crowd before the royals headed back into the palace as the anniversary celebrations continued.

Tonight the Queen lit a bonfire to start the nationwide bonfire ceremony.

3,500 bonfires were lit across the country to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee – celebrations continue throughout the four-day bank holiday.
