A MOTHER has shared her tactic for removing deep stains from white shoes with regular toilet paper.
There are so many tricks to removing stains from white clothes, but one mom’s simple toilet paper trick changes the game by making shoes shine like new again.
Beth Sasser, known on TikTok as @bethsasser, shared a laundry hack on her channel that has gone viral for its quirky use of toilet paper.
As a young mother, her account reveals how she deals with the stresses of everyday life as the self-proclaimed leader of her testosterone tribe.
This includes regular cleaning of sportswear and equipment, as well as fun family moments.
Sasser shows off her impressive toilet paper hack for cleaning white shoes in a viral TikTok video, proving it’s beneficial for athletes and non-athletes alike.
Sasser begins the video with a picture of one of her son’s incredibly dirty white tennis shoes and begins to detail the step-by-step process for cleaning it with just a few ingredients.
The key ingredient in the cleaning trick is super-hot water, which she runs in her kitchen sink.
As part of the second step, she pours almost a full box of Tide powdered detergent down the sink.
In the third step, she douses the dirty sneakers with Dove Powerwash detergent foam and even covers some white Birkenstocks with the liquid.
“You’ll ask me how it’s done and I’ll show you while I’m here,” explains the laundry pro.
Sasser says an important step is to soak the white sneakers and all other white shoes overnight.
“See? So clean! Look at that! That’s beautiful,” she exclaims while pulling the sneakers out of the water in the video the next day.
After letting them soak overnight, she makes sure to clean the sink with Soft Scrub Cleanser with Bleach Surface Cleaner.
Once the sink is clean and dirt-free, Sasser moves on to the next step and douses the shoes again with Dove Powerwash.
This is where the toilet paper tip comes into play.
While the shoes are soaked in the Powerwash, the cleaning professional wraps them in toilet paper to filter out any remaining dirt.
“As the powerwash pulls the whole cuckoo out, the toilet paper soaks it up,” she explains.
Normally the dirt would dissolve back into the fabric, but the toilet paper acts like a vacuum and sucks it right up.
She recommends letting the toilet paper wipe up the dirt overnight.
Once this is complete, the next step is to put the white shoes through a pressure wash and then let them dry in the sun.
The activity took two days to fully complete Sasser.
Sasser’s comments section contained a number of mixed reviews and thoughts on the wash solution.
“Am I the only one who just throws my shoes in the washing machine?” commented one viewer.
“I do that too! People get so pressured,” added another approvingly.
“The way my eyes just kept opening up. Can’t wait to use this,” commented another user.
