WHEN it comes to fancy bras and lingerie, it’s best to hand wash them in the sink to prolong the life of these more delicate items.
And it’s easy to do with just a few simple steps.
Consulting cleaning expert Carolyn Forté, Good Housekeeping, has revealed the best way to wash your beloved delicate items.
First, fill your sink with lukewarm water.
If your bra’s care label says a different temperature, be sure to follow that temperature.
Add a gentle detergent to the running water.
Make sure you don’t add your underwear until the detergent has completely dissolved.
Now you can carefully place your pieces in the soapy water and let them soak for 15 minutes.
Spread the soap all over your clothing, making sure you don’t miss a spot.
Next, rinse your items. Fill the sink with clean, cool water, completely submerge the garments, then gently squeeze the water out to properly rinse them.
To remove extra water from your garments, continue to gently squeeze them to allow the water to flow through.
You can also pat them dry with a towel.
Now you can reshape your bra if needed and lay your pieces flat to dry.
