Decorating a home RIGHT takes time, money and a good eye.
Although most of us can admire beautiful spaces and hope to emulate what we see in magazines in our homes, it’s difficult to pinpoint what special items will make your spaces pop.
A home decor expert and bargain hunter named Sarah Jane, whose YouTube channel Chic On The Cheap has nearly 550,000 subscribers, shared $10 tree products that will make your home look expensive.
BAR MOP TEA TOWELS
Sarah claims that white bedding is always a better option than colored ones as it will enhance the look of your bathroom:
“They just give your home that chic hotel feel. It makes your home look fresh, clean and fresh.”
Though you might think Dollar Tree Bar Mop dishcloths are only for use in your kitchen, the home decor expert said they look great in the bathroom, too.
She rolled them up into neat piles and placed a few in a wicker container next to a jar of cotton balls.
“They’re very vibrant, very white, and have a nice texture.”
Most high-end decor stores have textured bath towels at a hefty price tag, so you know they’re stylish.
You can get those from Dollar Tree for $1.25 each.
Sarah said these look nicer than the towels Dollar Tree sells in the bathroom department.
BLACK KITCHEN TOWELS
Next on her list were the black kitchen towels.
She pointed out that the texture and quality are good, but her favorite part is the dark color.
“They hide dirt and stains better than a lighter colour. So you can wipe your hands on that spot or a small one, and they’ll still look nice and pretty.”
As for another Dollar Tree hack, Sarah said to keep buying the cheap soaps and bath products, but to make sure to change labels.
“You can make it look so much more premium just by adding a label. You can create your own or buy them from places like Etsy or Amazon.
“And remember, the more minimalist the label, the more expensive it will make the container or bottle look.”
To make your home smell luxurious, purchase the two scented sachets for $1.25.
They come in many different scents so you can choose the one that best suits your space.
“You can use these anywhere in your home – in your linens, in your closets, in your shoes, in your trash can to mask odors, under your sink and even in your car.”
Just shake the pouch to activate it.
We all love the look of an expensive dark wood chopping board.
They’re great for serving appetizers like steak or chicken, or for a nice charcuterie platter.
To keep them from wearing out quickly, buy Dollar Tree’s dishwasher-safe plastic cutting mats.
By putting these on the wooden ones you don’t cut directly on the pretty cutting board.
You can get two for $1.25.
Although white walls are a popular way of making homes look spacious and clean, they often get stained with scuff marks.
To get rid of those unwanted smudges, buy two packs of Dollar Tree’s $1.25 quick erasers.
Be sure to cut the erasers into smaller pieces to extend the life of each one.
As for your dusty baseboards, dryer sheets work wonders.
The adhesive properties of the dryer sheet catch the dirt of the baseboard when you run it against the edge.
Sarah said most of us make one mistake that degrades the look of our kitchen: leaving the sponge by the sink.
Dollar Tree sells sponge holders that attach directly to the inside surface of your sink, hiding the sponge from view.
You can also put dishwashing sponges on the holder to hide them.
Dollar Tree might not be the best place to buy furniture, but you can buy some basic decorations there that still look great.
One of these products are unscented candles.
Pairing a Dollar Tree white candle with one of the glass vases, holders or Hurricanes will instantly enhance your home.
Sarah said one of her favorite centerpieces involves floating candles in a water-filled hurricane.
While you may not find the art itself at Dollar Tree, you can certainly find the frames.
Plain black looks great with a print that you can find online.
Another basic setup option at Dollar Tree is books.
Pick your favorites and stack them on a coffee table or on an antique bookshelf.
Instead of spending a fortune at Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn, opt for Dollar Tree Dinnerware.
Sarah loves the modern look of the white stoneware plates and the trendy feel of the clear glass plates, which sell for $1.25 each.
“I also really like Dollar Tree’s drinking vessels.
“When you find some you like, buy a few because things look more expensive in a set than just mixing and matching.”
