A FOOD lover has revealed a simple technique you can use to upgrade your meals next time.
TikTok star Zoe Barrie said you can enhance your dinner parties by “infusing” liquid ingredients.
“I’ll show you one of the easiest ways to make people think you’ve really tried and really thought hard about something you’ve made,” Barrie said in a video.
“But in reality it’s super easy.”
The Gourmet then pitched the idea of infusing heavy whipping cream with your favorite flavor to create a delicious creamy topping.
All you have to do is put some of the cream in a saucepan and heat until it begins to steam.
“As soon as it starts vaping, turn it off immediately,” Barrie said.
Once you turn the heat off, you can add any spices or flavors you like.
“I’ve added Earl Gray tea bags but get creative,” the TikToker said.
Then Barrie let the infused cream cool before adding some powdered sugar.
After whipping the cream until stiff, Barrie created an intricate topping that will enhance any number of desserts.
“Now this is no ordinary whipped cream,” she said.
“It’s an Earl Gray-infused whipped cream. It’s little details like this that make people feel like culinary magicians.”
Zoe Barrie shares all sorts of food projects and recipes on her TikTok and she even showed how to add a touch of fruit flavor to an average recipe.
Barrie upgraded her chia seed pudding by infusing it with a delicious Meyer lemon flavor.
“I’m going to use some good old coconut milk,” said the recipe tester.
As with the whipped cream infusion, Barrie said you want the milk to steam a bit before removing it from the heat.
“Well, you can’t do that with every fruit,” she said.
“Blackberry, raspberry, strawberry – I would honestly only add a jam.”
However, she said you can always use citrus peels to enhance a liquid with a lemony flavor.
After soaking the bowl in the steaming milk for ten minutes, Barrie tossed in some stevia and vanilla.
She then strained the liquid into a jar of chia seeds and threw it in the fridge overnight for an increased change from your regular breakfast.
