FASHION trends come and go – but there are pieces that can last a lifetime.

And one fashion guru has revealed which pieces to choose if you want them to last in your closet.

According to the TikTok account @anaskid — a Canadian fashion blogger named Anastacia — there are many items that look similar to the naked eye.

But if you take a closer look, you can see whether they are trend pieces, outdated or timeless.

First up is leather pants, she says leather leggings are outdated and those with cutouts are trend pieces that won’t last long in your closet.

Leather-look pants with a slim fit are best.

Next are black Chelsea boots, those with intricate details surrounding the leather are obsolete, and those with chunky platforms only last a season or two.

But a classic matte leather Chelsea boot will never go out of style.

While blazers may all look the same at first glance, the smaller details can tell if they stand the test of time.

Models with a single button in the front are obsolete, and those that are tight at the waist creating a peplum fit are now in fashion.

But if you want a blazer that will last, Anastacia recommends a longer fit with a slightly boxy style.

In another video from the series, she tackled knee-length boots.

Styles with platforms and belts around the calves are out of fashion, and baggy fits and stiletto heels will soon be, too.

If you want a pair to stay in your collection forever, try a leather boot with a chunky heel that goes with many outfits.

If you’re looking for a little red dress to pull out of your closet for last-minute events, then stay away from the ones with lace sleeves or padded shoulders, Anastacia explains.

Opt for a bodycon red dress with a classic crew neck instead.
